Namaste, you just opened the door to Nomadic Intentions. It's taken me some time now to gain an understanding of what I wanted this blog to portray; to be honest, I still don't have it all figured out (but who does these days, right?) For now, here is what I know:
If I were to create a definition for a "nomadic intention", I would say a nomad is a wanderer, or that it simply represents 'wonder'. To go deeper, I'd say a wanderer is a curious person who explores new places and ideas. As for an intention, I see that as a plan; the aim to live a lifestyle because it's what you want. If you put the two together, my belief is that this blog will help you see new perspectives and create a new plan for living from those perspectives.
Now, the key here is open-mindedness. As a child, I was very set on ordering the same dish from the same restaurant that I went to every Sunday with my grandmother even when the waitress offered up new options. That, my friends, is the definition of being closed minded. I've luckily grown since then.
Based on my passions, curiosities and lifestyle, here are some things I will be writing about:
Broadening perspectives on the world.
Perspective, meet travel. I think I read somewhere that there is a proven correlation between travel and your openness as a person, I'll look into that. Interacting with new humans and immersing myself in different cultures has been an easy way to change my perspective about the world (and an easy way to increase the coolness factor).
Dressing to express, not impress.
Anyone who knows me, knows I have a lot of clothing. I partially like and dislike that about myself. So I'm working on going on a journey with my closet to express who I am with limited pieces, instead of trying to impress with multiple pieces. This will probably be my most difficult journey tbh.
Understanding personality types and human interaction.
This is a hard one, because everyone (again) is different. Conflict resolution is an abyss that I will personally never master, but work toward every day. I always remind myself of this, "while you're not taking yourself too seriously, don't take others too seriously either". I'll dig deeper into managing this one.
Communicating while working remotely.
Calling all remote workers! Soon enough, I will be on the other side of the world attempting to adjust to time frames and get on the same page as my teammates. This my friends, is definitely something I can improve on, and I can't wait to share my remote working tricks.
Experiencing technology as a designer.
The design of everyday things isn't mentioned nearly enough on a day to day basis. How is a doorknob designed? Bet you never thought about that one did you! Well, I like designing things, and I like technology. If you can share my passion here, I'm sure we can have some pretty great convos.
Setting intentions for a positive lifestyle.
There is an inner soulfulness in everybody. The smallest things can bring light to your day, and I am a firm believer in intention setting (hints nomadic intentions). Hopefully I can help you increase your happiness levels just by reading some tea bag quotes or by reading any of my posts because that's the goal right?
Consuming food for the soul.
Due to the fact that I'll be traveling around the world for a year, maybe longer, I thought it was appropriate to express my passion for food (and drinks; yes the alcoholic kinds too).
If these seem intriguing to you, I hope you will gain new perspectives from my writing. Hopefully I'll get a chance to write about other things and experiences I have, and feel free to ask my thoughts on anything! Lastly, I am fully aware that I cannot please every soul who stumbles across nomadic intentions, that would be impractical. But I do ask, if you have opinions, or thoughts, please share them and I will graciously take your feedback (because you definitely have experiences I don't have, and I may have a lot to learn from you.)
Happy reading (and exploring),
